Tales From Sawyerton Springs
About this Product
"Tales to laugh and cry along with, tales that require repeating to friends and even strangers, Andrews' stories about hometown life are just plain wonderful. Simple anecdotes about holidays, prank-playing boys, and small-town gossip fill these pages. Growing up as the son of the Baptist minister did not seem to keep Andrews from any mischief along the way. Obviously, his father allowed him to learn some lessons on his own, but that did not prevent the preacher from wryly imparting his moral lessons from the pulpit. Fun to read over and over again." Denise Perry Donavin
SOMEWHERE DOWN THE ROAD and across the holler from your hometown is the town of Sawyerton Springs. It's a town without a lawyer-they don't need one.
The paper comes out once a week and everybody already knows what's in it. This is a place of memories. Good memories and memorable characters.
This is a collection of 27 of the best stories that Andy has ever written. Great for family reading and bedtime stories. (Includes the popular "Baseball, Boys, and Bad Words")
Customer Testimonials
"When stressed out at work I read one of the stories and am refreshed. There are no grand philosophies or special mystery cures to life's ills. Its magic is that it offers none. It's just everyday people who carry on despite little setbacks, quirks, and mistakes in judgment minus what most modern entertainment would call exciting-bashing, suing, stepping on, shooting or otherwise destroying someone."

"Wow, I couldn't stop howling after I read this book! A book that I have read several times, one that can teach lessons without "trying to teach lessons"! Good, easy reading for anyone who enjoys down home values."

"After reading "The Traveler's Gift", I bought a few more of Andy's books. "Tales from Sawyerton Springs" was one, and I finished this one in 2 days! I am from Gulf Shores, Alabama, and found that I personally know one of the people in many of the stories, and can honestly see all of it happening just as it was told. This was another amazing book! I can't wait to get to the next ones!"

Without a doubt Tales from Sawyerton Springs is one of the funniest books I've ever read. My wife and I still quote lines from it, especially the story about the Little League coach with a speech impediment.

Andy Andrews has a wonderful, whimsical way of telling stories in which you'll see yourself, your family and your friends in his characters and situations. He places these colorful characters in Sawyerton Springs...a gentle community...in a time of basic common sense, light-hearted fun and simple truths. He'll tug at your heartstrings; he'll make you laugh out loud; and he'll make you think about how life doesn't have to always be so complex.
If you've ever seen Andy perform before, you know he has a mischievous streak in him...you can actually imagine the sparkle in his eyes as he tells these stories. I've bought multiple copies of this book as gifts for friends. I can't think of a better compliment to an author than sharing his book with folks you love. Enjoy....I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

This collection of warm and witty short stories will please anyone who appreciates or longs for the charm of life in small town America. The characters that populate Sawyerton Springs are memorable, as are their antics. You'll be glad you've met Billy Pat, Ginny, Miss Edna and all the rest. You'll laugh so hard you'll cry, especially at "Baseball, Boys, and Bad Words," an innocent tale of the funniest thing in the world to young boys. I especially appreciated the wholesome fun of these coming-of-age stories of a Baptist's minister's son. These tales will warm your heart, as you relive or visit this lovely little town where you'll wish you could live.
