My First Blog

Hi Everyone!

As of this very moment, I am diving off the high board and into the deep end of the pool ... THIS IS MY FIRST BLOG!

For some time now, I have watched and read the postings of beings far more experienced in navigating the blogosphere than I ... me ... whatever. There. Right there is one thing I have noticed: Grammer is not bubbling over the lip of the old blog bucket! However, with this blog, I will try to keep eeroors to a minimum.

Honestly, there have been many occasions when your written words have meant so much to me. And not just to me, but to family members and friends as well. Often, I have printed one of your emails to carry with me physically and have forwarded others, but even in doing so, I knew that there were millions of people just like you and me who could benefit from our correspondence if they were able to view it themselves.

And why should they have to wait for my next book to implement what you and I just figured out?! Life is tough enough without being on an "automatic information delay"!!

I cannot count the times I have wished someone besides me could know how funny Mike from Arizona is or how smart Dave is—the mortgage guy who corresponds with me from Louisiana. For two years, I have carried with me the words of encouragement Gloria wrote from Indiana when I was overseas with the troops and you never knew what she had written or why I teared up every time I pulled the paper from my pocket.

But now we can know. And read and touch and feel through the magic of a blog! We are about to get to know each other much better!

As of this very moment, if you wish, you can reply when I write or even ask a question. Know that I have a family and time is at a premium so I am not promising to answer every thing that gets asked, but hey ... lets go for it! I will promise not to deluge you with every thing that pops into my head (that might get ugly!) but we will both ... from this point forward ... determine to lay our gifts and talents on the table, get our minds and bodies in gear, and ramp up this business of living the life you choose!

Yours,
Andy Andrews

"So! Last night there I was watching public television and then Andy Andrews starts talking..Wait a minute..Who's this guy????I've never seen him before. Sometime during the next 30 seconds I became mesmerized! I'm so glad I was channel surfing and found you.!!I became an instant fan. You had some wonderful things to say, but I gotta tell 'ya, it was the hand over your son's heart that got me!I don't know how I missed you but I hope you do a tour through Florida because I'd love to see you in person. I'll look forward to future blogs in the meantime."

"I first heard of you through my broker she let me see your dvd which brought me to tears I knew i needed to make chances in my life. I immediately bought your book it took me 3 weeks only because I wanted to implemente each decision in my life and the life of my husband. It has changed our lives forever. THings have been set into motion in our business and in our personal lives. The greatest decision that had an efect on me was THe buck stops here. After i put that into action so many things have changed in my business and personal life. Thank you for listening to the voice of God and writting this book. I now know that the decisions i make really can make a difference in my life and in my family's life for generations to come.
I will be sharing it with everyone i know

"Hi,

First, congratulations on your new blog. As I learned from my own, which began last December, people don't leave much in the comment box. I simply pray my words will help others in some way. I'm reading The Traveler's Gift. It was actually to be used in a writing course I signed up for. Although the course was canceled, the book has enveloped my thoughts. Initially I was ready to argue the point in decision one, wondering what you were thinking. Yet after Truman’s clarification I realized I was interpreting life equally to Ponder. Just now I’m meeting Gabriel and they've begun to walk. Your creativity in the presentation of these principles has a much bigger impact than typical self-help type books. I am hoping to make this book a gift to many this Christmas (as money becomes available). Yesterday I bought your Mastering the Seven Decisions and have just touched on your testimony. Though I don't know the journey completely, thank God you found your way. Your writing is definitely a gift from God. Thank you for utilizing that gift."

Happy you started your own blog. I am always interested in what you have to say, and a blog seems so much more personal. I have read your books, bought a DVD, and sent books as gifts to others. Wish I could find you on TV sometime, or better yet, hear you speak in person.

Thanks for sharing!"

"Andy,
I first saw you in 2003 at an industry conference I attend annually in Palm Springs, CA. You came again in 2005 at which time I mustered the nerve to shake your hand and speak with you. Andy, I have to tell you that as many times as I've seen you on television, DVD, heard your cd's or read your books, I never tire. Your fearless pursuit and passionate resolve in the direction of your chosing has made all the difference in my life. I don't want to bore you in this short blog, however, I am now pushing through my own fears and anxiety to publish my first book. I'd love to hear from you about any suggestions you might have. Also, if you have time to review it for me, I would be forever in debt, as if I'm not already. Thank you Andy! By the way, my kids love Socks for Christmas!"

"Thank you again for all you do. I just happen to be sitting in Gettysburg for a work related convention. Normally, I would be by myself but after my 10yr found out where I was going he had to come. He is very interested in seeing the sites, especially anything to do with Joshua Chamberlian. After your weekend in Flordia last year I picked the child version of the traveler's gift, and he loved it...and obviously learned something.

But what a coincidence, I am sitting here and all the sudden I get your blog notice on my blackberry.. Couldn't believe the timing.

Boys need real dads. Not just fathers to put food on the plate, establish chores, and curfews. Andy thank you for your Travelers Gift book and follow-up for implementation. My son is required to do chores at home as a member of the family, if he wants to earn money, he is given the option to read from a book list and / or recite speeches. Among his favorites are you books. The questions and conversations that come from a 10 year old are amazing and insiteful at such a young age. Thanks again. Looking forward to your next book."

"Andy - welcome to the land of blog! Thank you for taking this on as it will be good to hear from you in a more personal forum. I first encountered you at DISA, where you motivated all of us SESs, under the guide of LTG Harry Raduege. From there we asked you back twice I believe, under LTG Croom. Each time I enjoyed your talks immensely. I have all your books, including signed copies of your latest, that I have given to close friends. Each of my adult children have made the seven steps a way of life, as have I, so you have had a profound affect on our family. Thank you for that. I wish you well, and hope to see you again soon. I will be watching for your next adventure!"

Andy, I was moved by your presentation in Tunica this past May. I was in tears as you finished and your words hit home. I had already read Travelers Gift and felt connected immediately. Thank you for being the dynamic man you are and sharing yourself with others. I apply as much as I can and share the knowledge with others. I have purchased additional copies and given to family and friends.

God bless you for your work!"

"Andy:
I cannot thank you enough for the book "Travelers Gift" and "the Lost Choice". I purchased the T. Gift for teenagers and my 14 yr old daughter loved it.

I do need to tell you how important the work you do really is. About 4 years ago I was so depressed I could not see anything to live for... a friend gave me your book Travelers Gift, and being about the same age with identical circumstances, needless to say the book literally changed my life. We had to downsize our home and since I could not find a job (after a corp career > 12yrs) I went to work for myself. Even though I wasn't a stellar success in biz for myself I learned tremendous lessons which helped me land another corp sales job where my entreprenurial skills are rewarded. I won "Top Achiever" and "Top Account Executive" last year and am in line to do same this year.

My wife and I haven't rested on our behinds either; your books helped spawn an interest in real estate and we now own 3 rental properties/income producers. I've also enhanced my own skills by learning the markets and currently enjoy significant progress trading in up, down or sideways markets.

I just cannot thank you enough for your inspiration through books (and audio) have helped tranform my mind as well as enhanced the lives of all our family members.

I heartily recommend your books as a "absolute must read" to everyone I run into who are looking for answers or inspiration.

Thanks so much,
Russ"

"Howdy All!

Andy, I'm so glad to hear from you and also to have the opportunity to interact with other people you have made an impact on.

I met you in Vegas a couple months ago, bought all your CDs and have been using many of your lessons in my life.

In particular I have forgiven everyone I was harboring resentment against. Even though I know they may not have "changed their ways".

I look forward to your posts - even if you could post trivial "goings on" - it would remind me to implement more of your thoughts.

Thanks!"

You and "The Travelers Gift" found me at a very difficult (maybe the MOST difficult!) time in my life, and were the basis for a monster comeback! I was lucky enough to get a chance to see you at Kingsbury Hall in Salt Lake last month and it was as I remembered. I'm glad all is well with you. Thanks again."

"Hello Andy,

How fun for all of us that you took the plunge and are now a blogger - my boys and I love your books, DVDs, CDs, etc... and our work uniform is your NO WHINERS shirt. Seriously! I work from home with my boys and that's our motto - we have the Seven Decisions posted on the wall and attempt to live by them. We made our own poster before your fancy ones were developed...we were one step ahead and persisted without exception!

Bless you, your family, and your work."

God Bless You!"

That's what I said to you when I met you in Cancun March 2007 at my first Liberty Leqague conference.
I was so touched by your vision of transformation, your integrity, your energy. You're one of the leaders of a great transformation of love in the world.
EVERY day in the car I listen to the CD of you reading The Seven Decisions and practise them in my life. Through you I too have touched others and made a positive change in peoples lives through my business/personal life.

"Congrats on the Blog.
I have been a fan for sometime - Years ago, I found 'The Travelers Gift' as I ran thru the Pensacola airport and have been hooked since.

A few months back I tracked down Polly's email address and sent her a note to describing how I took over a collection of your tapes from our Charity auction and have became a Andy Andrew junkie - checking them out to family and friends. But the best yet is the time I have spent reading 'Sawyerton Springs' to my 10 year old grandson. He can certainly identify with you and your friends and someone the wild adventures. I on the other hand have enjoyed the special bonding time as we lay side by side in the hammock as I read to him...moments both of us we will always cherish.
Keep up the good work and hope our paths will cross. Kathy"

"Hello Andy

It's always great to hear from you and find out what you're doing. I don't know if you remember me, but we met for the first time in 2003 when you took part in Operations Seasons Greetings -- the overseas troop entertainment tour sponsored by the Air Force Reserve. I was the senior military officer on the trip, and it was my privelege to lead you and some other great entertainers as you brought tremendous joy and a touch of home to our deployed military members and their families. You truly are a great American.

I retired from the Air Force in 2005 and currently work as a sales and sales training consultant for The Brooks Group in Greensboro, NC. Yesterday, I was conducting a training webinar and I discussed the importance of reading and/or listening to inspirational messages. Several members of my audience asked me for advice on who I would recommend. I promised to get back to them with some suggestions. Well, I believe there must have been divine intervention, because I received your email this morning. As a result, I'm going back on line and recommending my listeners checkout your website as the place to find inspirational ideas.

It's been nearly five years since I first heard some of your inspirational stories and started reading your books. They made such a positive impression, I often share them with my friends. Now I will reocmmend them to my clients.

I hope you and your family are doing well.

Sincerely

Kevin L. Reinert, Colonel, USAF (Retired)

Andy,

Just a word of encouragement for you to continue to be a story teller and use this gift to bless others. Not only for entertainment but to teach us the principles of life. As a pastor I have found more people love to hear a message through a story then just through the presentation of facts. May the Lord bless you as you encourage and teach.

"Andy,
I am movtivated every day by the 7 decisions. I have the background of my PC as the list of the seven decisions (avail on your website). That comment about your "I will persist without exception" has gotten me through more tough times than I can list.
Every decision I make does matter - I get it now. I read the "Storms of Perfection" series whenever I have a few minutes - the brief stories are incredibly motivational.
I am sincerely grateful and prayerful for you answering your calling - my wife and children have already seen an improvement in our lives and relationships (4 and 6 years).
Keep up the good work - and please, persist and take action!"

"Andy,
This blog is a super idea. It brings your insight a bit closer to us and I find it meaningful to read the input from other's, who have been touched by your message from books and from profound life experiences.
The longer I live, the more in love with life I become, and how blessed I feel to cross paths with inspirational people! Contact with motivating people keeps me striving to accomplish goals and take risks in life, which in turn allows me to serve others in a bigger way...Thanks for diving off the high board and into the deep end."

"I first was introduced to Andy on the Nashville Network. Ralph Emery was the host. Being a banjo player in Colorado Springs, I watched to get my "fix" of country and bluegrass music. I was reintroduced to Andy when he spoke with true leaders like Doug Wead, Coleman Orr, Skip Ross and Jim Floor. "Burn the boats" was and still is the most influential story I've ever had the priviledge of hearing. I am reading "The Lost Choice", the "Travelers Gift" is next. I watch the DVD of the "Seven Decisions" at least three times a week, and play the audio that came with it every time I get in the truck. Just like the good old days! I happen to be a neighbor of Mr. Smith in Tennessee. I cannot possibly thank Andy Andrews enough for pushing through and making his message heard. He continues to change my life as I am able to absorb his lessons. Thank you Andy!"

"SO love that I am on the "list" for this blog...Thank You! Here is a little advice for living I will share with you...I call it the "So It Really Is a Dog's Life" recipe for good living: (or, Ode to Lucy...I remember those wonderful stories)

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.

Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

Being always grateful for each new day and for the blessing of you.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!"

"Hi Andy! I, too, ran across one of your speeches on PBS in 2006 (or 07?) and was instantly captivated! I am presently reading one of Dale Carnegie's books on overcoming fear of public speaking, how to do it effectively and the positive benefits of it. I DREAM of captivating audiences and MOVING them as you do. Can you tell me how you got your start? (Dale says there are no "born speakers".) Were you a member of Toastmasters? American Speaker's Association? How did you learn to put all this together in such a captivating way? (as far as what to say, how to say, in what order to say, how to express, emphasize, humanize, personalize, etc). Also, marketing. Did you hire a professional team or do you configure all of your own marketing ideas? I have owned my own business for 18 years, I'm a mortgage broker in Alabama, and it's been fantastic! However, I have felt this calling to make this change for some time now. Look forward to your thoughts, suggestions. Your Fellow Adventurer, (as Mike Dooley says)"

Andy is not only mesmerizing, he's funny and charming and oh, so smart. Life dealt him a "hand" that would have crushed most college-age young men. For Andy, it would become a defining moment of the superlative man he would become.

We in Alabama consider Andy Andrews a national treasure.

I just gave it as a graduation gift last Sunday (a must for the college bound) and set out my own copy to reread (again). I first heard of you when I read your book, The Traveler. It was a marvelous book and I had to get the DVD, The Seven Decisions, when it came out. I can identify with you because your story is similar to mine. I too lost my parents when I was young (20 yrs old). They were killed in a housefire. And I too am from Alabama. So, I'll look forward to reading your blog and hope that we can someday meet and strike up a friendship. I feel like I already know you as one. If ever you're in Little Rock, look me up.

In your case, as it is with so many who have great positive incluence and speak into the lives of others, your effectiveness is based more on who you are, than what you do.

And yet, all that you do has that special touch that sets you apart. I have benefited from your books. Think that Island of Saints should be a Hallmark Movie.

Good luck with the blog and God Bless your continued 'speaking into lives'.

"Congrats on your first "blog" -- I'm sure it will be a success!

Sorry you lost your parents at such young ages. What a shame!

ON THE SUBJECT OF GRAMMAR:It's spelled "grammar" (with an "a" at the end) not "grammer"); one should say "let's" (with an apostrophe) in the contraction for "let us"; the correct wording would be "I" (not "me") when you mean "more than I am" (with the "am" being understood, not spoken; and, lastly, it should be "affecting" (with an "a" not an "e" as in effecting) when you say a subscription would not be affected. Now, aren't you sorry you asked?

Good luck with your new blog; let me know if you need a proofreader, OK? Thanks. I enjoy YOU so very much -- appreciate your style of humor!!!!"

"
In Nov. 2004, I read "The Traveler's Gift" three times in one week; the first two readings impacted me so deeply that I cried throughout the book. This started me on a new journey in my life. I have shared the book with dozens of people; once explained the basics by phone and the listener ordered eight copies on her computer while we spoke. I have also facilitated an eleven week book study with four others; an experience that I would like to have over and over again. We used the reader's guide and the Traveler's Gift Journal questions. The group members opened their lives to each other. I have never held this kind of passion for anything else that I have read. The dynamics were such that certain principles I had been simultaneously experiencing, others were right in front of me on my life's path. My recommendations of the book to others have touched their lives dramatically. Last summer of 2007, I shared some of the decisions with others, and my emotions were as raw as when I first read the book in 2004. I would love to be a spokesperson for the book.

The chapter that had perhaps the deepest effect on me was the one with the Angel Gabriel. However, every decision is equally of value, and in combination the synergy is extremely powerful. Currently, I am reading "Mastering the Seven Decisions" and have also read "The Lost Choice" and "Island of Saints"."

"Andy,
This is my first Blog. Several years ago we were in Albany, GA and decided to go to Porterfield UMC to one of their meetings. To put you in your place, I had never heard of you. I knew my first and only wife of 52 years were in for a treat when you came out and started. Since that time, we have most of your books and CDs. They are all great. I wish more people could hear and see you, maybe just hear you. When I get down, or just want a lift, I take out one of your books or CDs and they do the trick. They are not as good as you are in person, but good. You are a "National Treasure." Keep up the good work. God Bless!

"Andy,

I am thrilled that you have started a blog because you have been an inspiration to me. I struggle with "persist without exception" frequently but you have taken away all of my "yeah - but's", so I just have to keep on pushing :)

I did a read and react series of posts in my blog regarding each of the 7 decisions in 2006. I look forward to revisiting those when I get my copy of Master The 7 Decisions that I have ordered.

Thank you for all that you have done for so many, myself included!"

"Dear Andy,

Congratulations on the new blog! Fans everywhere will enjoy this. I hope you and your family are blessed.

I was thinking back to the first time I heard your act at Heiner-Diner @ Alderson-Broaddus College. I remember when I attended The NACA event in 1986 and you walked by our table to accept your comedian award.

My parents loved your act too. My Dad was a country music fan and watched Ralph Emory all the time. Mom liked the fact you were a "clean" Comedy Act.

As I moved through my life's journey, I remember thinking about the past things I experienced and wondered what you were doing...I was surprised to here you are a motivational speaker...I really appreciated the Package of material you sent in 2005. The Travellers Gift made for an excellent Lenten Sermon series. I recieved many compliments on it. I gave God Glory first, and you...I still refer to your mantra- You were created to be a worldchanger...every decision you make and every action you take matter...however, the converse is also true...etc

As a United Methodist, when we go to our Wesley Roots...we do see and know that We need to be transformers of this world and leave it better than when we came into it!

Also, I was reading my GOOD NEWS magazine...concerning our general Conference i n Fort Worth TX...The front page had a picture of an "Andy Andrews" beside of an antique truck...If looks alot like you. Did you feed the UMC's in Fort Worth, TX in April?"

"Andy-I thank you wholeheartedly for your work. Your speeches and books on the 7 decisions have had a great impact not only on my life, but also on the people I encounter day to day. I am a schoolteacher and believe it or not, I have incorporated the 7th decision into my classroom, telling my students that must keep trying to pass their end of course test and that together, we are going to do whatever it takes to get them to the point that they can pass. But they will have to persist WITHOUT EXCEPTION. They sign a contract with me agreeing to do so and I will say, those kids have truly taken that decision to heart and worked hard and 93% of my students passed. Again thank you."

"I have a notebook I carry around and read as often as I can. In the notebook I have reproduced Andy's Seven Decisions and laminated them. The seven decisions are accompanied by Jim Paluch's 5 Important Things, Joe Tye's Your Dreams Are Too Small, Steve Ferber's The Radical Leap and Ben Franklin's 12 Rules of Management. It has been suggested by many to read positive things every morning and evening. The notebooks helps me to (1) remember to do it, (2) reinforces the messages by repetition, and (3) help to stay positive throughout the day. I was fortunate to see and hear Andy Andrews in person and have read I think everything he has published. Words do not adequately describe his impact on me and I think on the people who deal with me every day.

"Hi, Andy! You came and spoke to our American General Securities meeting a few years ago and I purchased your books to pass on to our four children. Thankyou! Now, I come to you and your friends asking for help for our town, the city of Cedar Rapids. The flood damage to our community is beyond belief. This morning, our local paper announced at least 2,000 homes will have to be taken down. People have spent the last week and a half moving their water damaged belongings out on the curb for removal. Our complete downtown is still cleaning up and has no electricity except for the sound of generators running the many institutional cleaning firms who have invaded our town to aid in disastor recovery. We have lost two commercial properties to the flood. We spend last week helping our tenants find new homes to conduct their business. If anyone wishes to contribute to our efforts, please direct a check to The Greater Cedar Rapids Foundation, 200 1st St. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 52404. The Foundation offices were underwater and they are operating from the Kirkwood Community College Foundation offices just south of town. So far, they have awarded 11 grants of $5000 each to are non-profits whose offices where consumed by the Cedar River flood waters. Andy, thankyou and your many friends, in advance, for any help your heart can offer at this time. My best, Gary Speicher"

"Andy,
I remember first writing to you several years ago after I read The Travelers Gift and it had made such an impact on my life as a human being. You made me become a better mom, sister, daughter friend etc. I have kept up with all you have done and truly admire the impact you have had on the world - your purpose from God is clear even if you have not realized it yet. Recently I was in a religious goods store and they had your book Island of Saints. I spent about 10 years in Pensacola/Ft Walton so it intrigued me and I bought it. I could not put it down and kept telling my husband you have to read this because it is where he grew up. It is a great man's book but I was engulfed in it to the end. You write beautifully.I am so happy to see that so many have found out about you and hope to continue to enjoy your work. May you continue to be blessed."

61. Michael L. Brown:

"Hi Andy,
I started reading the Traveler's Gift at the prompting of my pastor and couldn't put it down. It left me hungry to read, I'm not an avid reader. Then I found "The lost Choice"and then "Island of Saints". I have done everything I could do to get this imformation to as many people as I could. I've bought books by the case and given them out to my staff and friends. I've even held a men's conference and used Lessons from the "travelers gift" as my guide.

I had hoped to get you to come to address members of our discipleship programs and some of our residents.we operate a Homeless Selter with recovery programs that are biblically based. But there is no way we could afford the fee we were quoted by the group that schedules you engagments. Do you ever do reduced cost engagments if you are in the general area anyway?

I think the peoiple we serve diserve to hear what you have to say from you. I know it would be an honor for them.
Pastor Michael Brown"

"Hi Andy. I have not met you personally, but have seen you speak and and have a tape or two where you tell stories and relate the stories to our lives and how we can overcome obstacles which get in the way of our accomplishments. The story about Cortez has always been my favorite. My husband and I suffered marital problems in the past and were inspired by that story. We have now been married almost 37 years and have 2 sons and 3 grandsons. Though medical issues have plagued us since 1981, we still cling to the hope and trust we have in our God, who sustains us and brings us through all things. Thank you for your candidness and humor. I would love to meet you some day."

"I remenber a story that you told back sometime back in the 1990's, when you were involed with a [old network business]. you told a story about a relative that had pass away, when the wake was going on, you threw your voice so that someone thought that the relitive was coming back to life or raise from the dead. and everybody ran out of the funeral home when the wake was being held. a relative gave you some of her words back to you. Heres something you could use when speaking. brother smith is the pastor of the community church for 25 years, pastor smith was married for 55 years to his wife rita, when rita died after a long illness. pastor smith did the funeral for his wife, he aways what to get the last word all the time, when he and rita were alive, they were both notorous about this between each other in their marriage. well when the church was full of all the menbers and family and friends. pastor smith had to get the spirit of sorrow out of the church building.so pastor smith leans over towards his wife's casket, and says those words to her, in the funeral service 'HONEY I GOT THE LAST WORD'.well the hole church went into uproar of laughter, the spirit to joy started to move the spirit of sorrow out of the building. seven years later pastor smith died, when pastor jack smith was crossing over into heaven he could see his wife rita standing there waiting on him to come into heavens gate. she said these words back to him. 1. I herld that jack smith. 2 or welcome home jack I miss so much honey. I have two of your books that you put together[letters] about those who had faced adversity in their lives.now I know what you met by those letters in your book. andy please keep up the good work that you are doing, whether if it is from the late 80's or the 90's and to now. just keep giving words of encouragement we need your words to give hope and light to others."

"Wow,
I was just hoping to possibly run into you at the Wal-Mart in Gulf Shores when I go on vacation next month.

I learned about Andy Andrews when I was asked to participate in a "special" project in my school. Some administrators had 'found'your book The Traveler's Gift and had a plan for presenting it using some teaching techniques they have been encouraging us to use. I being the history teacher (in a school for severely emotionally disturbed teenagers) was to present the schema or background information on each of the characters David Ponder meets, so the students could have a better understanding of the importance of the "lesson". I got totally into it and the students did to. A culminating activity was for us to meet with a holocaust survivor - it was an awesome experience.
I was so taken by the message in the book, I gave each of the students the card and key tag to refresh when necessary each of the lessons. I also got on line and ordered 8 or 10 copies for the students in my personal life who were graduating high school - what better gift to prepare them for the rest of their lives. Finally, I gave each of my children and sister copies for Christmas - and knowing my children as I do, I asked that all they needed to do for me for mother's day was to sit and discuss the book with me. Don't ask - right now they are too busy for mom.
Ok, that wasn't finally - I found your book The Island of Saints - I couldn't put it down - I have to know - fiction or non-fiction - I got on line and googled some of the people and they are there!!!!! I saw pictures other than in your book - I so loved reading about where I've gone on vacation the past 3 years - my sister and I plan on going to that little resturant you mentioned - the name escapes me now, but I'm bringing the book for her to read while we sit on the beach.
Now finally - (sorry had a lot on my mind and had to appropriately vent) - when upset - I walk and review through the lessons and then try to dwell on the one appropriate for what is bothering me. Thank-you.
Frances - in Pennsylvania"

Three years ago God put "The Traveler's Gift' in my hand because He knew . . .
Since then, I taught it to my classes and they wrote a play (you might remember the letter you wrote for my graduation class).
So... my question is... When does the movie "the Traveler's Gift" come out? I can't believe people like FoxFaith or others wouldn't be interested. There certainly are millions of us readers that would vouch for its success.
Let us know if that would be a possibility.
May God continue to grant you Wisdom.
Blessings!

Cheryl Ashurst

Mr. Andrews,
My name is Allie Ashurst. My mother, Cheryl Ashurst, is probably the biggest Andy Fanatic I have ever met and has since gotten me hooked on your message!
I am approaching the end of my freshman year at Auburn University and I am pursuing a career in the nursing field. I have always wanted to be a nurse and my heart has driven towards it for years. After my first year of "college work" I have realized just how difficult this path will be for me.
I often find myself struggling with schoolwork which will then lead me to question my dream. I know that the Lord's plan is for me to serve others in His name through nursing and I have never been more clear of something in my whole life. Whenever I am in these "funks" what my mom calls them..I get on the phone with her and the first thing she tells me is to "Persist Without Exception". Sounds familiar!! After probably the 400th time of hearing her say that it starts to sound a little cliche, but at the same time very true.
Your message of Persisting without exception has given me the strength to stand up tall and conquer every obstacle that is standing in the way of my dream. I wanted to thank you for all the strength your message has brought out in me and for giving me the courage to face each day seeking wisdom, happiness, forgiveness, and the ability to go after what is most important to me...WITHOUT EXCEPTION!!
Thank you for all you have done!
God Bless!
Allie Ashurst"

I am using the Traveler's Gift and the Advanced Traveler's gift as a tool to help mentor a man in our church. This is exactly what he needs and I so appreciate your thoughts and words. I met you along with Bo Short many years ago while at a seminar for a business venture, you both captivated and motivated me to work on becoming a better person. I fell of the wagon after a series of surgeries and hard times. I then recently read The Traveler's Gift and it reminded me what I have been missing and to refocus my life. "Andy, so good to hear you last week. Spending time with you has shown me that you are the real deal. Many people seem to go through life faking it. Most will see through this. In your case, you are the same person on or off stage...a real person, with real feelings and emotions..and empathy. You truly care about people, want to help them and make the world a better place.

I feel we have an obligation to help people be and feel significant. I think this obligation starts at home with our family and especially our children. We really need to hug them, compliment them, praise them and make them feel special....because they are.

Remember, those adults that always seem to exagerage or lie or cheat or steal are usually the ones that did not have a good loving childhood. And also the ones that need our help too.

I commend you on your blog and look forward to participating in spreading your message. Your 7 decisions contain such a powerful message for both children and adults alike. Spreading this message is the real task.

By the way, I smiled today....while I was talking.

Thanks,

Kellekelle"

"Burn the Boats" changed my life six years ago and I am reminded of its daily commitment by a small burning boat tattooed to the inside of my forearm where it never leaves my sight. A little exteme I know, but its lesson is that important to me."

"Andy, I also was hearing you for the first time in that Albany, GA, audience at Porterfield UMC. What a treat and a blessing. I am collecting your books and DVDs, and telling my family and friends about them. Thank you so much,
Louise"

"Dear Andy,

After discovering YOU on PBS, quite by accident, I have ordered all of your books and over 15 copies of that DVD which I have given away to special people whom I knew needed to hear what you have to say.

Thank you for being YOU and for sharing your thoughts with us.

Always your fan,

Rae"

"Thanks for sharing so much of yourself Andy.
Like all these folks, years ago God placed The 7 Decisions in my hands, and this is the playbook of my life.

Thanks.

Hank"

"Andy: For about 5 years I had the pleasure of hearing you at least twice a year and was every time, the better for it. Over the years I've sat in front of some of the best but the night a few years ago that you spoke for about 1-1/2 hours at the Gaylord in Orlando will remain the most amazing (what ever you call it) that I will probably ever hear.

Yes "burning the ships" was great, the "Alabama bowling ball " is something I tell a lot of people about and I really could relate to your fear of snakes with a little one, but that night in Orlando you were the best anyone could be.

Sadly that was the last time that I heard you live but, the thought of it (or your CD's) always give me a lift.

To quote John Wayne, yes "life's tuff, but it's a lot tuffer if you're stupid. Hopefully we will all gain some "smarts" by sharing our thoughts through you.

Hi Everyone!

Obviously, I am learning about this blog thing as we go... I just figured out a couple of days ago how to begin actually placing comments of my own in the the blog line. Therefore, I am WAY behind on this first one. I will get better quickly... In any case, please allow me to comment on a few of your postings during this one.

Colonel Reinert! Of course I remember you and our "Operation Season's Greetings" we did overseas for the troops. The bologna sandwiches we ate that day in Italy remain my favorite meal of the trip!

Clauzelle... the Dog's Life was very cool! Thanks...

Cheryl... see... your daughter IS listening to you. By the way, when Allie's letter came in to our office, I printed it out and carried it with me for several weeks. Please tell her thanks...

Paul... "My Life So Far" on CD and "Not Normal" on DVD are the only items still available that contain almost all comedy. (and the baseball story is on both)

Kelly... Keep smiling... and keep talking! You are doing great work!

Incidentally... our office is monitoring the blog too and anytime someone has a specific question regarding book sales or affiliate marketing (or any business related stuff), someone from our office is contacting them. That way, I won't need to answer on the blog. Questions of that sort can always be directed to AndyAndrews.com as well...probably get a quicker answer there...

Thanks,

AA

"Hi Andy,

Congratulations and we are so excited to hear about your blog. Now we can communicate easier and faster with you!

I just want to thank you for your kindness and your motivating message we received at the University of Utah's taping of your new DVD "Mastering the 7 Decisions. We are the group of ladies that was on line first to get into your performance. Getting to meet you in person was an exciting time for us. As I shared you then, you have made such a difference in our personal and business lives. I conducted a sales meeting yesterday with my staff and we reviewed the 7 Decisions. It is so important to stay on track. I cannot thank you enough for the difference you have made in all of our lives, as well as, the lives of everyone we touch. One of my managers shared yesterday that her 16 year old daughter was struggling intensely with the rape and murder of her close friend. She would not leave her room as she was scared and depressed. Her parents were looking into help for her and as I was working with her suggested that the family utilize the 7 Decisions to help in the healing. Well, I am happy to report that it has done wonders and her school counciler was so impressed with her progress he wanted to know what had the family done to help her. They told him they had used your 7 Decisions DVD and book to help her find her way. He was so impressed that he is recommending your 7 Decisions DVD and books to families to help them, especially, those in crisis!! Your powerful message that everything you do and NOT do effects everything is vital to our daily journey. Our lives have been blessed by you. We share your stories of your wonderful family and the learnings you teach from your experiences from them. I do not believe you have any idea how many people lives you have positivly impacted! We truly love you, you have changed our thinking and your message will live on in our lives and those we touch forever. I look forward to the next time our paths cross and I can thank you personally. By the way, the picture of all of us outside before your performance is the screen saver on my phone and my computer. It helps remind me daily of what I need do and NOT do!

Thank you again,
Pattie G."

"Hello Andy,

I met you in Albuquerque at the Spa resort for Tempur-Pedic Sales Meeting this year. I had told you that my brother had given me your book and that he had seen you in Salt Lake for the Mattress Firm meeting. Sales people are typically hard to please as many of them have public speaking backgrounds/training etc..... You knocked it out of the park just like I was told by so many. I just wanted to say it was really nice spending time with you after the fabulous presentation you did.. or inspirational meeting that is... I have given your book out to all my friends who are in need of a little guidance and they also loved your book. Be safe.. and thanks for making a difference."

"Hi Andy,

So glad you started this blog. Now I don't have to wait until your next book or tape to hear from you. I have gladly passed along your books to others, and given them as gifts. I was thrilled to be able to see you on TV and send away for your DVD. The thing I like the most about you, is your ability to speak to us in a very 'down-to-earth' style. Keep up the good works!

Regards"

"Andy, I used to have a tape of you telling the story of David and Golieth in only the way you can tell it. I have moved a couple times and lost the recording. I would love to be able to share that with my kids. Is there a place I can get another copy?

Thanks...I'm a huge fan,

Dave"

I was by myself in my truck at the dump and I was laughing out load so hard people were looking at me as if I had lost my mind! Please tell me where I can buy the CD of this or listen to it again. I am also buying tyour other inspirational tapes. Tim"
